Sealed by Promise
Monday Mar 09, 2026
Monday Mar 09, 2026
Life often brings discouragement through opposition, unmet expectations, and delayed dreams. The book of Haggai shows God's people struggling to rebuild the temple after returning from exile, feeling defeated when their new temple didn't match Solomon's grandeur. God's response was clear: Be strong and get to work, for I am with you. He reminded them of His promises and called them His signet ring - His personal seal of authority. As believers today, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit as God's guarantee that He will complete what He started in us. When discouragement strikes, we must remember God's promises, take action, and trust that His Spirit within us provides the strength we need.

Dig the Ditches
Friday Mar 06, 2026
Friday Mar 06, 2026
Three armies found themselves dying of thirst in the wilderness after making plans without consulting God first. When they finally sought the Lord through the prophet Elisha, God gave them an unexpected solution: dig ditches in the middle of a drought. Though it seemed foolish, their obedience prepared the way for a miraculous provision of water that not only saved their lives but also confused their enemies and led to complete victory. This story teaches us that God's solutions often don't make sense to human logic, but nothing is too hard for Him. Sometimes we must prepare for the breakthrough through acts of faith before we see the miracle.

When the Press Produces Prayer
Wednesday Mar 04, 2026
Wednesday Mar 04, 2026
Life has a way of pressing in on us from all sides, but these moments of pressure aren't meant to break us - they're meant to produce something beautiful. Just as olives must be crushed to release their valuable oil, we must sometimes experience pressure to release what God wants to produce in us. Throughout history, great men and women of faith understood that prayer was essential, not optional. When life gets heavy, we need to stop guarding our hearts from the burden and pray like God is the only one who can fix it. Prayer should be honest, focused on dependence rather than just outcomes, and persistent even when answers don't come immediately.

It's Time for Renewal
Tuesday Mar 03, 2026
Tuesday Mar 03, 2026
What happens when God’s Word is rediscovered and taken seriously again? Renewal begins. From the story of King Josiah, this message calls us back to wholehearted obedience. Not to earn God’s favor, but to respond to His grace. Renewal remembers what we once practiced with fire. Renewal steps into obedience we have never sustained before. Renewal also requires subtraction, laying aside what competes for first place. The fire of the Holy Spirit is already in you. It just needs tending. Join us for this timely message from Pastor Todd at Odessa First Assembly and allow God to realign your heart, awaken your hunger, and set the direction for the days ahead.

This is How We Fight Our Battles
Monday Nov 17, 2025
Monday Nov 17, 2025
King Jehoshaphat faced overwhelming enemy armies but chose worship over warfare. Instead of relying on military might, he led his people in fasting, prayer, and worship. God responded by declaring the battle belonged to Him, not them. When they marched out with singers leading the charge, God caused the enemy armies to turn on each other. This teaches us that worship changes our atmosphere, perspective, and circumstances. Sometimes our greatest battles are won not through our own strength, but through surrendering to God in worship and trust.

Worship is More Than a Genre
Friday Nov 14, 2025
Friday Nov 14, 2025
Worship reaches far beyond a Sunday song set. It rises from a life that gives God honor in the quiet places, the busy places, and the broken places. Real worship begins when we offer ourselves to Him day after day, not only when music fills the room. As our hearts turn toward Him, our view shifts. God grows larger in our sight and our troubles shrink back into their proper size. Worship is not a performance for people. It is a gift placed before the only One who deserves it. Our bodies and emotions can join the offering through standing, kneeling, lifting our hands, or resting silently in His presence. At the center of it all, worship is a work of the spirit. It opens us to the presence of God and invites Him to shape us in ways nothing else can.

From Bags to Barns // Pastor Todd Starnes
Monday Nov 10, 2025
Monday Nov 10, 2025
God desires to command blessing into our lives, but it requires faithful obedience and proper stewardship. According to Deuteronomy 28, when we fully obey God's commands, we experience blessings in every area of life. The key principle is recognizing that everything belongs to God and we are merely stewards. There are four levels of blessing: the bag (scarcity), the barrel (daily supply), the basket (surplus), and the barn (commanded blessing). Generosity and faithfulness with what we have unlocks God's provision. The path to blessing begins with faithful obedience, starting wherever you are and being consistent with giving and stewardship.

Overcoming Unbelief // Silent Battles // Pastor Todd Starnes
Thursday Nov 06, 2025
Thursday Nov 06, 2025
Unbelief is choosing to trust what we see instead of what God has promised. The story of the Israelites at Kadesh Barnea illustrates this perfectly - while ten spies focused on giants and obstacles, Joshua and Caleb saw the same challenges but trusted in God's power. Unbelief magnifies problems and makes us romanticize our past instead of embracing God's promises for our future. Faith doesn't ignore reality; it includes God in the equation. When facing difficulties, we must shift our focus from the problem to the problem solver, remembering God's faithfulness and trusting His promises over our circumstances.

Overcoming Failure // Silent Battles part 3 // Pastor Todd Starnes
Monday Oct 20, 2025
Monday Oct 20, 2025
We all face moments when failure feels final, but God's plan for your life already includes your failures and still leads you to your purpose. Peter's denial of Jesus teaches us that following at a distance guarantees failure, yet Jesus knew Peter would fail and still called him. When we fail, Jesus intercedes for us and looks at us with love, not condemnation. Repentance is what keeps failure from becoming final. God's restoration doesn't make you start over - it returns you to His original design for your life. Your failures don't define you; God's love does.

Ever feel exhausted right after a major breakthrough? Elijah called down fire from heaven, then immediately wanted to give up. Sometimes our greatest victories leave us most vulnerable to weariness. The key isn't avoiding rest, but it's learning to abide in Christ while we recover. Are you seeking God's hands or His face?
